TPG RISE Interview

This interview was conducted by TPG (RISE fund) asks the candidate to evaluate a buyout of an asset in the renewable energy sector. As part of the interview the candidate is expected to build an LBO model and prepare an investment memo. 

In addition to the interview prompt, the candidate is provided four documents:

  • 1) A management presentation outlining the assets business model, relevant competitive dynamics and positioning within the broader market
  • 2) The asset’s historical and projected financials
  • 3) Valuation metrics of comparable assets
  • 4) A model template

 The candidate is expected to prepare two outputs:

  • 1) An LBO model which includes sources & uses, income statement, debt waterfall, management option plan, equity returns, and relevant sensitivities
  • 2) An investment memo which outlines the assets business model, drivers of future performance and the candidates perspective on the merits and risks of the investment

Following completion of these outputs, the candidate is expected to present their findings and participate in a Q&A session.
