Public Investment Fund (PIF) Interview

This case study interview was conducted by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), the Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund. The interview asks the candidate to evaluate a potential buyout of an asset in the cyber securitysector with the ultimate goal of determining whether the asset poses an attractive investment opportunity to pursue.

 In addition to the interview prompt, the candidate is provided with three documents outlining the asset’s financials.

The candidate is expected to prepare two outputs: 

  • 1) An investment memo which outlines the asset’s business, investment merits & risks, valuation analyses, and the candidate’s ultimate investment recommendation 
  • 2) A completed LBO model which includes a variety of modeling quirks (e.g., operating model, case functionality, management rollover, etc.) in addition to supporting analysis, which includes a DCF and other valuation analyses.

This is a challenging case study.
