Partners Group Interview

This take-home case study interview was conducted by Partners Group in 2023 during the first round of the interview process. The interview asks the candidate to consider a public to private transaction of an asset in the pet industry with the ultimate goal of determining whether the asset poses an attractive investment candidate to pursue. 

In addition to the interview prompt, the candidate is a provided with a model template and the asset’s financials.

The candidate is expected to prepare three outputs:

  • 1) An investment memo which provides an investment recommendation supported by an evaluation of the asset’s business fundamentals, the market that the target is in, potential opportunities for value creation post-transaction and relevant valuation metrics
  • 2) The completed LBO model based on provided assumptions outlined in the interview prompt
  • 3) A 5 minute presentation outlining the candidates perspective on the asset
