Oaktree Capital Management Interview

This interview conducted by Oaktree Capital Management asks the candidate to evaluate an asset that offers distribution and supply chain services, with the ultimate goal of determining whether the asset would be an attractive LBO candidate. 

In addition to the interview prompt, the candidate is provided with a management presentation that outlines the assets business model, growth opportunities, financial performance and an industry overview. 

The candidate is expected to prepare two outputs:

  • 1) An LBO model based on transaction assumptions outlined in the prompt
  • 2) A investment memo which provides an overview of the asset, the candidates investment thesis, expected returns, key merits & risk of the transaction and topics that might require further diligence
