Madison Dearborn Partners (MDP) Interview

This case study interview was conducted by Madison Dearborn Partners (MDP) as part of its on-cycle recruiting process. The assessment asks the candidate to evaluate a potential buyout of an asset in the consumer sector.

The candidate is provided with three documents: 

  • 1) An interview prompt which outlines the case study’s instructions and provides relevant transaction assumptions
  • 2) An asset primer, which provides an overview of the assets business model, financials, and relevant market dynamics 
  • 3) The assets historical financials

 The candidate is expected to prepare two outputs: 

  • 1) A three statement LBO model
  • 2) Responses to a series of questions relating the investments merit & risks, valuation, key model drivers, and sensitivity analysis
