Lindsay Goldberg Interview

This interview conducted by Lindsay Goldberg ask the candidate to build a take-private LBO model for an asset in the consumer goods space.

The candidate is provided with three documents: 

  • 1) An interview prompt which outlines the model test instructions and provides relevant transaction assumptions
  • 2) Historical financials (e.g., income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement)
  • 3) The asset’s most recent annual report

The candidate is expected to prepare two outputs: 

  • 1) A three-statement LBO model which includes a variety of modeling quirks, including public-to-private dynamics, an operating model, and more 
  • 2) Responses to a series of questions related to the assumptions made in the prompt, potential transaction merits & risks, and other topics
