KKR Interview

This interview was conducted by KKR in 2022. The interview asks the candidate to evaluate a potential buyout of a media asset, with the ultimate goal of deciding whether the asset would be an attractive LBO candidate.

The candidate is provided with four documents: 

  • 1) An interview prompt which outlines the guidelines of the assessment
  • 2) An LBO model template 
  • 3) The asset’s financials
  • 4) A primer on comparable assets and their relevant valuation metrics 

The candidate is expected to prepare two outputs: 

  • 1) An investment memo which outlines the asset’s business model, drivers of financial performance, key merits & risks of the deal, and the candidates ultimate investment recommendation  
  • 2) A completed LBO model based on the provided template

Following completion of these outputs, the candidate is expected to participate in a Q&A session.
