KKR Interview

This interview was conducted by KKR in 2024. The interview asks the candidate to evaluate a potential buyout of a media asset, with the ultimate goal of deciding whether the asset would be an attractive LBO candidate.

In addition to the interview prompt, the candidate is provided with three documents:

  • 1) The asset’s annual report
  • 2) Valuation comps
  • 3) A model template 

The candidate is expected to produce two outputs:

  • 1) A short memo outlining the asset’s business model, drivers of financial performance, key merits & risks of the deal, and the candidate ultimate investment recommendation
  • 2) A LBO model based on a set of transactions assumption outlined in the interview prompt

 Following completion of these outputs, the candidate is expected participate in a Q&A session.
