HG Interview

This case study interview conducted by HG asks the candidate to evaluate a potential buyout of an asset offering supply chain management solutions with the ultimate goal of deciding whether the asset could support a sound investment thesis. 

In addition to the interview prompt, the candidate is provided with two documents:

  • 1) An asset primer which provides an overview of the asset’s business model, product offerings, customer demographics, financials, and relevant market comps
  • 2) The asset’s financials

The candidate is expected to prepare three outputs:

  • 1) An investment memo which outlines the candidates investment recommendation, investment thesis, an overview of the asset’s business model, and relevant returns analyses
  • 2) An LBO model based on the transaction assumptions outlined in the prompt
  • 3) A proposed agenda for an upcoming meeting with the asset’s management team
