GIC Interview

This case study interview was conducted by GIC in 2022. The interview asks the candidate to evaluate an investment opportunity in a global transport conglomerate with the ultimate goal of deciding whether the asset is an attractive LBO candidate

In addition to the interview prompt, the candidate is provided with two documents: 

  • A model template which also includes the asset's financial statements 
  • An asset primer which provides an overview of the asset's business model, customer base, growth opportunities and relevant market dynamics 

 The candidate is expected to prepare two outputs: 

  • An investment memo which provides the candidates investment recommendation, transaction risks and potential risk mitigants, a perspective on the asset’s valuation, & topics that merit additional due diligence 
  • A completed three statement LBO model based on the template provided which includes an operating model, and other modeling complexities
