Audax Interview

This case study interview was conducted by Audax as part of its on-cycle recruiting process. The assessment asks the candidate to evaluate a potential buyout of an asset that distributes advanced manufacturing components.  

The candidate is provided with three documents: 

  • 1) An interview prompt which outlines the case study’s instructions and provides relevant transaction assumptions
  • 2) An LBO model template
  • 3) An asset primer, which provides an overview of the asset’s business model, product portfolio, historical financials, growth opportunities, and relevant market dynamics 

The candidate is expected to prepare two outputs: 

  • 1) An LBO model which includes a variety of modeling quicks, including add-on acquisitions, mandatory amortization, commitment fees, and more 
  • 2) An investment memo which outlines the candidates view on the asset’s business model, merits and risks of the investment, and the candidate’s ultimate investment recommendation

This is a challenging case study interview.
