Actis Interview

This case study interview was conducted by Actis in 2023. The interview asks the candidate to consider a solar power asset. In addition to the prompt, the candidate is provided with an asset primer, which provides an overview of the asset, relevant geographic dynamics, potential value creation strategies, key due diligence findings to date, and a set of precedent transactions. 

The candidate is expected to prepare two outputs:

  • 1) A financial model which includes a 3 statement buyout model, valuation analysis using DCF, and relevant return metrics
  • 2) An investment memo which provides an overview of the asset, relevant merits & risks associated with the deal, findings of the valuation/buyout model, and topics that require further due diligence

Following completion of the model, the candidate is expected to participate in a debrief, during which they present their findings and defend underlying assumptions throughout an interactive Q&A session.
